Huge Demand for Multi Rotor Drones Industry

A multirotor or multicopter is a rotorcraft with more than two lift-generating rotors. An advantage of multi-rotor aircraft is the simpler rotor mechanics required for flight controls. Unlike single and twin rotor helicopters, which use complex variable-pitch rotors that change pitch as the blade rotates for flight stability and control, multirotor helicopters often use fixed-pitch blades. Control of vehicle motion is achieved by varying the relative speed of each rotor to change the thrust and torque produced by each.

Some of the key players of Multi Rotor Drones Industry:

Aerovironment Inc., Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), SZ DJI Technology Co., Ltd., Aibotix GmbH, 3D Robotics, Coptercam Pty. Ltd., Draganfly Inc., Microdrones GmbH, FLIR Systems, Cyberhawk Innovations Limited

Because of their ease of construction and control, multirotor aircraft are commonly used in remotely piloted aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (drone) projects, where the names tricopter, quadcopter, hexacopter, and octocopter are often used to refer to 3-, rotorcraft, aircraft 4, 6 and 8 rotors. There's also the X8 configuration (aka Octo-Quad), which is similar to the quadcopter design except it has eight rotors; the lower ones have a reverse direction of rotation.

To allow for more power and stability with reduced weight, coaxial rotors can be used, where each arm has two motors running in opposite directions, canceling out the torque (one up and one down). The attachment of horizontal propellers is also possible. These types of rotorcraft (which only have 4 vertical propellers) are called quadplanes.
