CURRENT AND FUTURE ANALYSIS OF LED ENCAPSULATION Industry
A light emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source that emits light when electricity flows through it. Electrons in the semiconductor recombine with electron holes and release energy in the form of photons. The color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photons) is determined by the energy that electrons need to cross the band gap of the semiconductor. White light is obtained by using a plurality of semiconductors or a layer of light emitting phosphor on the semiconductor device.Get Sample PDF

Dow, Nusil, H.B. Fuller, Shin-Etsu Chemical, Henkel, KYOCERA, Hitachi Chemical, Panasonic, Epic Resins, IntertronicsThe earliest LEDs, which appeared as practical electronic components in 1962, emitted low-intensity infrared (IR) light. Infrared LEDs are used in remote control circuits such as those used in a variety of consumer electronics. The first visible light LEDs were low intensity and limited to red. Modern LEDs are available for the visible, ultraviolet (UV) and infrared wavelengths with high light output.
Early LEDs were widely used as indicator lights to replace small incandescent bulbs and in seven segment displays. Recent developments have produced powerful white light LEDs that are suitable for indoor and outdoor lighting. LEDs have led to new displays and sensors, while their high switching rates are useful in advanced communication technology.
