Massive Growth for 5G IoT Industry
In telecommunications, 5G is the fifth generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular companies began to implement worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to 4G networks that provide connectivity to most of current cell phones. Like their predecessors, 5G networks are cellular networks, in which the service area is divided into small geographic areas called cells. All 5G wireless devices in a cell are connected to the Internet and the telephone network by radio waves through a local antenna in the cell.

The main advantage of the new networks is that they will have higher bandwidth, giving higher download speeds, eventually up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbit / s). Due to the higher bandwidth, the networks are not expected to exclusively serve cell phones like existing cell networks, but will also be used as general Internet service providers for laptops and desktops, competing with existing ISPs such as Internet by cable, and they will also enable new applications in the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine areas. 4G mobile phones cannot use the new networks, which require 5G-enabled wireless devices.
The speed increase is achieved in part by using radio waves higher in frequency than previous cellular networks. However, high-frequency radio waves have a shorter useful physical range, requiring smaller geographic cells. For broad service, 5G networks operate in up to three frequency bands, low, medium, and high. A 5G network will be made up of networks of up to three different types of cells, each of which will require specific antenna designs, each of which will provide a different trade-off between download speed and distance and service area. 5G mobile phones and wireless devices connect to the network via the highest speed antenna within range at your location:
